While many sectors of the economy have been hit hard by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, real estate has remained in high demand. Since March, realtors and homebuilders have been finding creative and convenient ways to work with buyers remotely through every step of the homebuying process, spurring a whole new virtual real estate revolution.
Personal Video Tours
One option that has proven to be popular with buyers is one-on-one video tours. The New Home Sales Professional schedules a time with the buyer to take a walkthrough of the model homes and community via their preferred video chat app or other video conferencing software. This gives the buyer the opportunity to ask questions and get a closer look at the models, inventory homes and amenities in real-time without having to leave the comfort of their own home. This option is especially convenient for buyers who are moving from out of state. Check out this demo to learn more about what to expect from a real time video tour.
Some realtors have also been scheduling virtual open houses through Facebook Live, giving their followers a chance to get a casual glimpse of a home before committing to a more in-depth one-on-one tour.
Virtual Floorplan Tours
What is the difference between a video tour and a virtual floorplan tour? While video tours offer a real-time walkthrough of a home led by a sales professional, where a virtual tour (also called a Matterport) is available online 24/7. It combines panoramic photos with spatial data to present an accurate 3D rendering of the home. Prospective buyers can click on specific rooms, zoom in or out and take a self-controlled virtual walkthrough of a model home floorplan. For example, check out this Cambria model floorplan tour from Minto’s community of Artesia, located in Sunrise, Florida.
Interactive Community Tours
Before committing to a home, it’s important to get a feel for the community you could be living in. Many of our communities feature interactive tours so you can enjoy a closer look at the unique lifestyle, amenities, floorplans and neighborhoods each community offers.
Check out our interactive community tours of Westlake, The Isles of Collier Preserve, One Particular Harbour Margaritaville, Latitude Margaritaville Hilton Head and Latitude Margaritaville Daytona Beach.
Home Tours By Appointment
A home is a big purchase, so for many buyers, nothing compares to seeing the home in person. Our New Home Sales Professionals are always ready to schedule in-person tours with potential buyers and their realtors. At this time, our communities are taking the following precautions so guests can enjoy a safe touring experience:
- All guests and employees are required to wear masks or face coverings
- Guests are required to wash their hands, complete a health questionnaire and have their temperature taken upon entering the sales centers
- All sales centers and model homes are undergoing frequent professional cleaning
Homebuying has changed in many ways since March but we remain committed to providing the safest and most convenient options for buyers to begin their next chapter in a new Minto home.
