Life in the sunshine state means we get to enjoy the luxury of warm weather year-round. From Port St. Lucie and Daytona Beach to Naples and Anna Maria Sound, nothing beats living on the coast near some of the most beautiful beaches in the state. When buying a home in Florida, here are a few features you may want to look for to experience coastal living at its finest.
Lanais
One of our favorite uniquely coastal home features is the lanai. Most common in Florida and Hawaii, the lanai is a covered patio that may be screened in or completely open. Perfect for reading a book in the shade or enjoying late night conversations with friends, there’s no better spot to be close to nature while enjoying the comforts of home.
Pools
In Florida, a house without a pool is like tea without sugar – it’s just not the same! When the weather is at its hottest, sometimes you just want to cool off with a swim in your own backyard. Whether for exercise or recreation, the pool is by far our favorite place to hang out in the Florida sunshine.
Outdoor Kitchens
Outdoor entertaining is much more convenient with an outdoor kitchen. If all your friends and family are hanging out by the pool, you don’t want to be stuck inside cooking the whole time. Enjoy the outdoors with them while you serve up an al fresco meal on the lanai.

Convenient for everyday living and entertaining alike, the Great Room is by far our favorite indoor hangout spot.
