Being productive in your everyday life can be difficult. With so many distractions it can be tough to get into a good routine. Here are some quick tips to make your life more productive!
1. Workout for 30 minutes each day
Starting the day off with a workout can be great for your mind and body. It can help to alleviate stress and give yourself a fresh start to the day. Your workout does not have to be rigorous. You can simply go for a short walk to clear your head. Leave your cell phone at home and give yourself a little me-time!
2. Keep a journal or diary
Writing down your thoughts can also help with productivity. Sometimes we have so much going on in our minds that we don’t take a few minutes to think about how we feel. By writing in a journal, you will be able to tell whether you are stressed, happy, or sad. Figure out what time of day you are most stressed, and use that as your “break time”.
3. Allow Only Certain Times for Emails
Do you ever feel like your phone won’t leave you alone? With texts and emails constantly coming to your phone, you barely have any time in the day for yourself. Try turning off your email notifications and allotting certain times in the day to check your email. This will relieve the stress of feeling like you must respond to emails right away.
4. No-Phone Time
Taking the allotted email times a step further, turn your phone off for 30 minutes daily. Our phones are constantly with us, making us feel dependent on them. Give yourself at least 30 minutes per day to read, or simply think.
5. Take a Nap
Power naps can be a GREAT way to increase productivity. Studies have shown that a simple ten minute nap during the day can boost your productivity! Turn off all electronics and take a quick power nap. You’ll immediately see results!
6. Stop Multitasking!
When you feel like you have an endless to-do list, it might be easy to start multitasking. Don’t! Multitasking can decrease productivity because your brain will have to refocus on new tasks, instead of sticking to one and moving on.
7. Create a To-Do List
Create a daily to-do list on busy days. Check them off when you have completed them. You’ll be surprised at how accomplished you feel seeing your list dwindle.
8. Become an Early Bird
This may be harder for some of us than others, but many studies have shown that we are most productive in the morning. Especially if you have a busy family life with children. Getting up before the rest of your family and crossing a few things off your to-do list can make for a very productive day!
9. Get a Full Night of Sleep
Again, this can be easier for some of us than others. A full night of sleep is usually considered between eight and nine hours. Make it a point to get in bed a little earlier each night, and get the full night of sleep that you deserve!
10. Reward Yourself!
To deter from distractions, bribe yourself with a reward every time you cross something off your to-do list. Rewards can be anything from a tasty snack, to watching an episode of your favorite show.
